Eidos Co-founder and president Ian Livingstone has retired after 20 years of service. He along with Steve Jackson was the co-founder of the popular and influential series Fighting Fantasy. During his reign at Eidos, Livingstone has helped launched popular titles such as Thief, Hitman, Deus Ex, and the ever popular Legacy Of Kain. Thief will be available on February 25 in North America and February 28 in Europe and other territories, such as Australia. Eidos Montreal’s reboot of the popular franchise will be available at the same time on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Eidos Montreal has released a new trailer called “uprising” with PS4 and Xbox One covers.
Gamescom is just around the corner and fans have been wondering what Square Enix’s lineup would be at the event. The German event is extremely popular among fans, and this year’s event will not disappoint. Square Enix will display both their current generation games and some next generation games. Square Enix Presents sat down with Eidos Montreal to talk about the new Thief 4. The reboot is one of the most anticipated titles and the fans of the original series are keeping their hopes up for a fantastic game. The original Thief is still regarded as the first true stealth game, having influenced games such as Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and much much more. We previously announced here that Eidos was doing a reboot for the Thief series, known as one of the first stealth games Thief takes the role of master Thief Garrett who takes what he wishes without being noticed.
