Final Fantasy VII Director Yoshinori Kitase was often quoted saying that the game would never happen, even after late last year a source close to Square Enix said that the game was in early production for the next gen systems. Recently, Kitase was quoted saying that the game is no longer an option and that if it were to happen he would want anyone but Square Enix to do it.
In an interview posted on SQEXMembersNA, the producer of Drakengard 3, Takamasa Shiba, goes into detail about the upcoming game, and also offers his insight into his life as a staff member of Square Enix.
